We are seeking a detail-oriented Middle Office Operations Analyst Operations Analyst to join our Global team and support critical settlement, trade processing, and regulatory reporting functions. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience with industry-standard systems and protocols.
About the Role
Reporting to the Global Middle Office lead (Sydney based) the role will span all areas of middle office operations along with project work, such as onboarding clients and new account setups. This role is full time.
Responsibilities
- Global trade processing and settlements for fixed income and related derivatives. Familiarity with Australian and UK markets will be looked at favourably.
- Perform critical daily trade reconciliations across multiple asset classes and counterparties to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct comprehensive daily collateral reconciliations including margin calls, collateral movements, and valuation adjustments.
- Ability to manage multiple daily deadlines, particularly regulatory reporting timelines.
- Resolve queries and issues emanating from custodians and counterparties.
- Ensuring integrity of static data and account onboarding with counterparties.
- Handover between various Coolabah locations.
- Instruction processing and checking via a maker checker process.
- Processing regulatory reporting and related reconciliation processes.
- Assisting with the operating requirements of the business.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
Required Skills
To be successful in your application you ideally will need to have previous experience in fund or custody operations, or within a middle office role at an investment bank. Proven experience in daily collateral reconciliation including margin management and collateral optimization. Experience with regulatory reporting, specifically DTCC and EMIR submissions in support of fixed income derivatives operations. Proficiency with Bloomberg terminal and related tools (AIM and RHUB required). More importantly is the motivation and enthusiasm to excel and carve out a career in investment management. You will have a sound understanding of the financial markets and thrive in a high-intensity work environment where the whole team shares the same intense work ethic and passion to excel. We are a highly quantitative team, so advanced Excel is mandatory, and VBA coding is highly desirable.
