SUMMARY
The Crew Leader – Landscaping is responsible for maximizing profitability by exceeding work assignments and performance to deliver an exceptional customer experience to garner continued and repeat business.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Operations Manager - Landscaping. This position is responsible for the training, development, and daily oversight of the Landscape Laborers – Landscaping.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides exceptional customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.
- Ensures that trucks are properly loaded and unloaded for jobs at the beginning of each day and that all equipment and tools are properly stored and managed at the end of the day. Ensures that loads are properly strapped down each time.
- Ensures that the company vehicles are maintained, clean and organized, both inside and outside.
- Supervises and manages each jobsite and Landscape Laborers for each job. Ensures the safety of the Landscape Laborers and that quality is consistently maintained throughout.
- Ensures that Landscape Laborers are punctual and that they are properly trained and developed for the team to consistently meet or exceed the company’s production rates.
- Assists with landscaping crews when needed by digging, planting, grading, and mulching.
- Operates equipment including, but not limited to, blower, weed eater, shears, mower, etc.
- Ensures that minor repairs and maintenance procedures are performed on equipment.
- Performs assigned landscaping roles for customers, i.e., mulching, clean ups, weed eating, pruning, digging, planting, edging, etc. and ensures that the Landscape Laborers are doing the same.
- Follows all proper planting techniques and holds others accountable to do the same.
- Takes basic direction from other members of management.
- Ensures that composure on the job is kept and maintained at all times, especially while in high stress situations and environments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- A valid Driver’s License is required.
- Must be capable of pulling and backing up a trailer and equipment correctly and safely.
- General knowledge of the landscaping industry required.
- Must be able to read plans/ drawings and layout a design.
- Excellent communication skills with leaders, employees and customers and have the ability to work well with others while providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines by prioritizing tasks and keeping projects on schedule, delegating when appropriate and holding others accountable.
- Must adhere to company’s uniform policy.
- Must meet company attendance standards and hold others accountable to do the same.
- Must be willing to work weekends or overtime as necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available, willing, and able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions including snow during the winter months and running a snow route and heat during the summer months.
- Must be able to stand, squat, sit, walk, kneel, bend over for extended periods of time, and lift up to 40 pounds.
