We’re currently seeking a full-time Inside Sales & Customer Service Representative to join our on-site team. If you’re mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with people, this may be the opportunity for you.
Job Summary:
As an Inside Sales & Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers—helping them select equipment, place orders, and troubleshoot issues. Most interactions will take place over the phone, but you’ll also engage customers via email and in person. This role requires excellent communication skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to understand technical product details.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls and assist customers with product selection, orders, and troubleshooting.
- Present, promote and sell products/services to existing and prospective customers.
- Provide support via phone, email, and in-person at our facility.
- Route calls appropriately, while clearly documenting and communicating key details.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
- Assist customers with technical and mechanical questions related to sawmills, blades, parts, and other equipment we manufacture.
- Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature
- Enter quotes, sales orders, and customer data into our system with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Write and respond to professional emails and business correspondence.
- Review sales orders for accuracy prior to processing.
- Reference equipment manuals to help customers identify and order the correct parts.
- Build product knowledge through on-the-job training and self-study of guides and materials.
- Communicate internally with team members to ensure smooth order fulfillment and follow-up.
- Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution
- Occasionally assist in packing parts orders for shipment and serve as a backup to the shipping clerk when needed, and other tasks as deemed necessary.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or a similar office-based role.
- Strong customer service skills along with the ability to answer technical questions and resolve customer issues.
- Excellent communication skills – confident and courteous over the phone, in writing, and face-to-face.
- Mechanical aptitude – able to understand and explain how equipment works or troubleshoot basic issues.
- Basic computer skills are required – typing, email, and data entry.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word is a plus.
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and professionalism.
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented setting and sharing information across departments.
- Skilled in taking and relaying detailed notes to ensure smooth handoffs and internal communication.

- Mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving ability
- Experience with sawmills, band saw blades, or other outdoor/mechanical equipment
- Ability to read product manuals and understand part diagrams

Base Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
