Server

Job Summary:
The Server position at the Cook’s Burger Bar is the cornerstone to all things FOH, but most importantly, our beverage and service program. They will be directly responsible for ensuring our guests have an exceptional experience, by executing all components of proper food and beverage service. From the greeting and order taking, to proper delivery of beverages and the food, our service team will be the industry leaders within our market in delivering an uncompromised service experience.

They will be experts in modern & classic RTD canned beverages. The service team at the Cooks Burger Bar will be well versed in proper cocktail service. From ice management and recipe development to ingredient use and knowledge of our local spirits, our Servers will be able to deliver an exceptional cocktail experience to our guests.

Last and most important, our Servers must make sure that every guest he/she encounters during their shift leaves the Cook’s Burger Bar feeling better than they did when they arrived. Their responsibility is to make our guests feel welcomed, by delivering genuine hospitality and creating a warm and welcoming environment. Our bartending team will be the industry leaders within our market in delivery an uncompromised, quality service experience.

Duties:
· Promote, work and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the Cook’s Burger Bar

· Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes.

· Experts in service, flavor descriptions, weight, style, and abv in the beer we offer.

· Execute proper steps of beverage and food service for every patron that sits at the bar, dining area, or patio.

· Recognize and learn names of regular guests and their food & beverage preferences, dietary restrictions, or special needs, in efforts to create a lasting relationship with Cook’s.

· Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make any necessary change.

· Maintain a properly balanced bank at all times.

· Take beverage and food orders from patrons directly seated at bar, dining area, or patio.

· Record drink and food orders accurately and immediately after having received them, by putting them into the register system.

· Check identification of all guests to verify age requirements to purchase alcohol, according to the local VABC guidelines.

· Attempt to limit problems and liability related to guests’ excessive drinking by following proper alcohol management protocol.

· Keep a meticulously clean, organized and clutter free work environment, including but not limited to counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, storage areas, etc.

· Attend all scheduled employee meetings.

· Report all equipment issue or maintenance issues in a timely fashion to management / ownership.

· Assist all fellow employees in their duties to always maintain a high level of service, regardless of section.
