We are seeking skilled Accounting Clerks to perform a variety of accounting, payroll, and financial tasks. Accounting Clerk responsibilities include providing administrative support, keeping employee/financial records updated, and reconciling bank statements. You will run an accounting software program to process business transactions, like payroll, accounts payable, and general journal entries. A successful Accounting Clerk should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for detail. Ultimately, a successful Accounting Clerk will ensure that daily accounting and payroll functions are ran accurately and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Accounts payable
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting and employee records
- General ledger posting
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly financials
- Daily data entry of key financial transactions
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Provide administrative support and assistance to management
- Function in accordance with established standards and procedures
- Constantly update job knowledge
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounting and/or Payroll Clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting procedures
- Familiarity with payroll taxes, process, and garnishments
- Competency in MS office (word and excel)
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Ability to prioritize and complete task based on business needs
- Well organized
- High school Diploma
Desired
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Experience with Peachtree (Sage50)
