Overview
The Platform Administrator installs, implements, administers, maintains, and upgrades the application platforms.
The level and title will commiserate with experience of the selected candidate.
This position is headcount neutral and only open to internal IT employees located in AMER or EMEA.
Responsibilities
•Coordinate with solution teams to identify needs and work with infrastructure, data and security teams to design application server environments•Installs, implements, administers, supports, maintains, and upgrades server-side application platforms.•Working with solutions team to define, enable and support the functionality and capabilities needed•Documents the installation, configuration, software validation/qualification, and backup and recovery plan• Monitors designated applications and takes corrective action to prevent or minimize system down time•Open, manage and resolve application issues with external application vendors•Find and execute on process improvement opportunities
• Regularly administer configurations, workflows, security groups, and user access to application platforms• Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential technical risks with platform• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision • Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations and plan and manage tasks to timely completion and appropriately escalate issues• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements• Maintain regular and punctual attendance• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards• Must have effective oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
Minimum Work Experience/Educational Requirements• Associates degree required, Bachelor's preferred or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background• Minimum 1-5 years experience in a Windows/ Linux environment • Significant experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of web and application servers and middleware applications
• Experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues• Some experience with software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile• Understanding of industry best practices for IT Service Management,such as ITIL
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
• Works under general office environment conditions• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc. • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA
• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences• International and domestic travel as required
