Overview
The Manufacturing Systems Specialist at Cook Incorporated will have responsibility for overseeing and executing tasks required for MES Solution implementation and sustaining activities. This includes but is not limited to performing workflow and process analysis, requirements definition, working closely with engineers, production personnel and quality departments to coordinate configuration implementation activities, assisting engineers with set-up decisions based on system knowledge, and serving as lead or assistant trainer in applicable user training sessions for proper knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and execute tasks during the implementation and maintenance of manufacturing systems. Tasks to include, but not limited to: - Factory modeling using the Opcenter Portal - System configuration, integration, and acceptance testing• Collaborate with global IT and business teams to - Assess impact of global system changes to local configuration - Define consistencies and enforce global standards• Assists and provides hands-on assistance related to testing and software validation• Assists, and provides knowledge transfer to, the customer in defining the model data configuration (e.g. workflows, material lists, electronic signatures) for both prototype demonstrations and system testing• Troubleshoot customer issues - Provide timely, accurate, and friendly support to the customer base, both internal and external - Reproduce issues in-house if necessary for troubleshooting and testing - Provide Internal support - Assist internal consulting, training and education resources as requested• Documentation - Create knowledge base with “self-help” troubleshooting and provide answers to common situations / errors - Assist with maintaining any relevant procedures for job functions• Use independent judgment to make decisions on significant issues• Run short term, long-term, and/or design focused projects, or complete significant tasks critical to projects• Serve as a mentor, trainer, and resource to the department for aspects critical to performing job functions• Prioritize work based on assigned goals• Maintain and increase knowledge related to the team’s focus and relevant company systems
Qualifications
• Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent industry experience acceptable• 2 years experience that relates directly to the above essential job functions/duties• Experience working independently and with minimal supervision • Basic knowledge/experience with analytical testing equipment preferred• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and PP presentation software preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Works under general office environment conditions• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate• Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, and gowning may be required in some areas associated with this position• Moderate exposure to noise level in the work environment that is moderate to occasionally loud
