The primary function of the Machine Learning (ML) Engineer is to develop and deploy machine learning models using Python or other industry programming languages.
- Develop and Implement ML Models: Design and deploy machine learning algorithms and models to analyze and interpret complex medical data, contributing to the advancement of our medical devices.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and clinical experts to integrate machine learning solutions into existing and new medical device platforms.
- Data Preprocessing and Analysis: Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources to ensure the accuracy and quality required for training robust machine learning models.
- Performance Optimization: Enhance the performance of machine learning models by tuning hyperparameters, selecting appropriate algorithms, and employing techniques to prevent overfitting.
- Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest developments in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the medical device industry to ensure our solutions remain at the forefront of technological innovation.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all machine learning models and processes comply with relevant medical regulations and standards. Maintain thorough documentation for model development, validation, and deployment processes.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related Engineering field required
- Master’s in computer science preferred
- Minimum 2 year’ experience
Qualification Requirements
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with data preprocessing techniques and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, and an ability to create in an undefined, unestablished environment
- Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Must be highly collaborative and comfortable working with people in a matrixed environment.
