Tax Manager
Cook CPAs and Consultants is a growing, locally owned, public accounting firm based in Mount Vernon, Washington. We serve clients throughout Washington and the United States. Core Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Manager is responsible for managing tax return and tax planning projects from start to finish. This includes:
- Direct and review the work of staff accountants
- Communicate directly with clients on engagement related items
- Train and supervise staff on routine accounting and tax engagements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or another relevant field required
- Current and valid CPA license preferred
- 5 years’ experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression of complexity of accounting tasks and tax knowledge
Professional Skills:
- Strong technical skills pertaining to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically
- A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines
