Overview: The Fund is seeking a Manager of Information Technology (IT). The Manager must be a leader; capable of designing and implementing change with the most efficient use of resources; work effectively with all Fund staff to understand issues, provide solutions, and drive transformation; possess outstanding flexibility to support the service needs, requirements, and requests of members with the utmost professionalism; and communicate effectively with the Board of Trustees regarding the status of technology and related services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain all IT systems and related functions and platforms (hardware and software), including, but not limited to the following: (1) network, storage and server management, (2) managed backup and disaster recovery system, (3) digitized records imaging system, (4) a customized pension administration system, and (5) approximately 40 end-user workstations and devices.
  • Active management of production technology and network infrastructure to ensure related systems run appropriately, perform within agreed targets and provide a secure platform for Fund operations.
  • Foster innovation; research emerging technologies; and develop, organize and implement future technology requirements, including modernization and/or upgrade of existing systems.
  • Assess risks of the IT environment and related policies and provide efficient, practical solutions.
  • Develop the annual IT budget, and manage all operations for compliance with cost requirements; ensure the Fund receives high value and return on related investments
  • Work with Fund leadership to understand user needs, align with business priorities and cultivate opportunities for change.
  • Troubleshoot IT issues related to member service with urgency, compassion and adherence to the highest level of confidentiality and security.
  • Manage all IT relationships and provide recommendations for change.
  • The Manager of IT will report to the Executive Director of the Fund. There is one support staff member that reports to the Manager of IT.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Information Systems or Engineering with an emphasis in Computer-related discipline. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience demonstrating expert knowledge, skills and abilities required to solve highly complex IT issues.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in an IT environment with strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, including familiarity with server and storage technologies, virtualization and the ability to integrate components into an efficient computing infrastructure.
  • Ability to understand application, network and system capabilities and produce infrastructure design that meets and improves business requirements.
  • Superior analytic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to design, sponsor and generate change. Efforts should be hands-on, detail-oriented, and progressive.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to the Board of Trustees, senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with government entities or a pension/employee benefit administration systems a plus.

Compensation Range: $120,000 - $150,000
