Sales Manager Core Responsibilities


  • Responsible for achieving and surpassing sales goals
  • Develop and refine company standards for sales processes and coach sales team to these processes
  • Clearly communicate key objectives and strategies to company leadership and to sales team
  • Conducts weekly team training on sales process, marketing strategies, product knowledge, financing, and other sales producing activities
  • Holds sales team accountable for meeting and exceeding sales quotas
  • Leads weekly sales one-on-one meeting with sales team for the purpose of increasing conversion
  • Research and evaluate market conditions, demographic needs, economic conditions, and comparative market analyses
  • Prepare and deliver sales reports to company leadership
  • Provide input on pricing
  • Collaborate with professionals in other departments, such as those in marketing, research and development, project management or customer service
  • Stays up to date on the latest sales strategies and market conditions through actions such as attending conventions, being active members of professional associations, or enrolling in developmental courses
  • Works with closing coordinator for on-time home closings
  • Responsible for recruiting and hiring of top performing sales consultants
  • Trains new sales consultants on processes and company standards and holds team accountable for following and meeting these standards
  • Oversee the contract process for new sales to ensure contract documents are properly completed and executed and deposits are collected and recorded in a timely manner.
  • Creates and manages team schedule
  • Leads team Realtor outreach efforts and holds team accountable to engaging Realtor partners
  • Monitors CRM to ensure all prospects are entered and regular contact is maintained
  • Coaches sales team through independent prospecting activities and community events
  • Addresses and resolves escalated buyer concerns and coaches team to resolve issues
  • Manages the scheduling of all construction meetings in the field with builders, including regular phone calls
