What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Main Preop position at Conway Regional Heath System?
Overview:
This position is a designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.
Qualifications:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients with health care needs ranging from those requiring outpatient and inpatient intervention to the critically ill. The PreOp RN will aid in preparing the patient for their surgical procedure. The PreOp RN is responsible for starting and monitoring IVs, administering pre-operative medications, and performing pre-operative procedures with the assistance of anesthesia. They will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support system.
SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:

Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with current, active license to practice in Arkansas, required.
- Minimum of two years RN experience required.
- BSN preferred.
- Certification Preferred.
- Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education
- Basic keyboarding skills, preferred.
- Must be able to meet 30-minute response time for call shifts.
