Position Summary:
The Medical Lab Technologists (MLT) will perform related duties in the laboratory, which include storing and labeling specimens and using manual and automatic equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- Medical Lab Technician through one of two ways required:
- Associates of Science degree in Medical Technology or;
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with Board Certification as an MLT.
Experience
- Experience with patient contact preferred.
- Previous experience with Laboratory/Hospital computer system preferred.
- Previous experience as a MLT in a hospital laboratory preferred.
- Knowledge of program development and administration preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- ASCP certification preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains, following standard laboratory formulas and procedures.
- Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on testing equipment as well as process samples and create reports and will often communicate lab updates with nursing and physician staff.
- Provide exemplary core customer service.
- Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
- Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.
- Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
