Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to keep all areas pristine.
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely in accordance with established safety protocols and handling procedures.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools effectively to maintain floors and surfaces.
- Conduct detailed sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, common areas, and high-touch surfaces to promote health and safety standards.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting touch-ups, or replacing fixtures as needed.
- Follow safety guidelines for heavy lifting and manual handling to prevent injuries during the transportation of supplies or equipment.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and timely replenishment.
Requirements
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery including floor buffers and other custodial equipment safely.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Good communication skills with a customer service-oriented attitude when interacting with staff or visitors.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
