About us

Conway Eye Care is the premier eye care provider in the Mt. Washington Valley. We have been providing high quality eye care to our community since 1925. Caring for patients of all ages, from infants to seniors, we provide primary eye care including glasses and contact lenses, medical eye care including diabetes, cataracts, and glaucoma care, and emergency eye care for injuries and infections.

We are looking to add a part time or full time optometric technician/assistant to our team. Primary responsibility will be directly assisting in patient care with our doctors, by gathering patient history and pre-testing information. Additional tasks include placing referrals and coordinating follow-up patient care, and potential for medical scribing as well. Any eye care or medical care experience a plus, but will train the right person. Pay commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Part-time or Full-Time. Some travel may be required for a full time role.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Medical Assisting: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Optometric Technician Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of patient care practices with a focus on direct patient interactions in optometry settings
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and optometric procedures
  • Experience operating medical equipment safely and effectively within clinical environments
  • Proficiency in managing electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient information at all times
  • Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes related to optometry or general healthcare services
  • Experience working in a clinic setting is a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
