Ministry Function
The Special Projects Director supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope (COH) by serving as a strategic connector between the MarCom and Development Division, and other key teams as requested. This role manages a variety of creative and functional projects, clear and timely communication with colleagues, and has the ability to manage many projects and timelines simultaneously.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary liaison between MarCom and Development to ensure clear and timely communication about direct mail, email, and campaign schedules. This position understands Development’s priorities and projects to align messaging, timing and strategy with the overall Convoy of Hope brand and MarCom strategy.
- Writes and edits engaging content for the COH website, Global Headquarters communications, and other marketing and media platforms, maintaining consistent voice and brand standards.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Communications and Marketing and the Chief Marketing Officer to manage and execute partnership deliverables, ensuring all commitments are met and relationships are strengthened through the process.
- Lead and grow the organization’s micro-influencer network in partnership with the Public Engagement team, coordinating outreach, engagement, and performance tracking of various modes of communication used.
- Supports special projects that require coordination across working groups or external partnerships, ensuring high-quality execution and strategic alignment with COH standards and messages.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Communications required. High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 5 years’ experience in marketing, communications or project management roles required.
- Ability to use Mac programs, including but not limited to G-mail, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel proficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying the communications work of COH within the organization, with partners and with our target audience.
- Experience with Monday.com (or similar) project-management system preferred.
- A professional, resourceful and determined style with the ability to work independently and is comfortable in a close-knit team-oriented setting.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle concurrent, multiple job tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relational skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally on an infrequent basis.
- Attends and actively participates in COH At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
- Serve as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
- Ability to positively represent the Communications team, ministry of COH, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
- As a Christian organization, COH believes it is critical that each staff member embraces the organization's religious purposes for which it exists and not only agrees with its Statement of Faith but demonstrates it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
