Ministry Function
The Development Strategy Manager supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope (COH) by leading operational advances regarding donor database, analyzing donor data to drive fundraising efforts, and bringing innovative solutions to improve processes and systems. This will allow the Development team to optimize stewardship of COH resources to serve our partners with excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Helps manage and maintain Salesforce to ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive records of donors, constituents, and fundraising activities. Identify areas of improvement and lead strategy for best practices regarding data hygiene.
- Oversees and assists with research as necessary, including prospect research, trip planning, and volunteer engagement within Development. Managed all research projects related to fundraising and ensures efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify necessary analytics and execute data extraction to analyze key data points that drive decision making related to fundraising. Assist the partner engagement representatives in reviewing their caseloads and keeping them active and effective, making educated recommendations for which donors they should partner with and where we should focus our fundraising efforts.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs), measure the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives, and inform decision-making. Work closely with the Salesforce Administrator to keep records up to date, develop a clean user interface, and build out tools necessary for advancement.
- Research, identify, and implement technology and tools that can be used for the advancement of the department, including Artificial Intelligence.
- Collaborate with internal teams and other departments to optimize CRM usage, uphold data integrity, and identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements. Build processes (such as wealth screening, vetting, donor journeys, etc.) for Partner Engagement to connect with volunteers across the organization.
- Determine and develop needed processes and policies as related to CRM usage, best practices, onboarding, etc. Maintain a knowledge hub of resources, templates, and recorded trainings.
- Develop and facilitate training sessions that will increase cohesiveness and inform strategy. Train the team on how to best use technology to increase productivity and efficiency. Assist in the onboarding process of new team members within Development.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, nonprofit management, research) is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Has a strong inclination towards technology and proficiency of common tools – email, Microsoft & Google products (Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs), etc.
- Demonstrates the ability to learn new skills necessary for effective research.
- Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively work both collaboratively and independently.
- Attends and actively participates in Convoy of Hope’s At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
- Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organization and program ministry.
- Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
- As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization's religious purposes for which it exists, and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
