What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer position at Converse Consultants?

Converse Consultants is looking for a candidate with an EIT who is looking to take the PE test [KG1.1][CR1.2]within the next year. This candidate will be trained and utilize their knowledge to move forward in the company to become a more senior level engineer.

Candidate must be technically proficient and familiar with Southern California, have staff management skills, client management skills, and business networking skills. The position is open to motivated individuals with various levels of experience for the skills described but must be looking to become a California Professional Engineer and ultimately a licensed Geotechnical Engineer.


Typical Duties

• Site Investigation and Soil analysis.

• Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology.

• Laboratory testing of soils and construction materials.

• Seismic and Secondary effects of Earthquakes Analysis.

• Foundation Design.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to carefully document findings and calculations accurately.

• Track projects budgets and schedules and reviews reports.

• Participate in the growth and business development of Converse.


Education/Registration Status/Professional Attainments

• Bachelor's Degree at a minimum, Master’s Degree preferred.

• Registered Engineer-in-Training, will take the PE test within one year of start date.
