What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solutions Architect position at Convergence Networks?
Position Summary
The Solutions Architect is responsible for providing project proposals and architectural consulting expertise. The Solutions Architect works with and supports our Professional Services and Business Services Team. This role requires an organized individual with a drive to learn, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent customer service skills.
What do our Solutions Architects do?
- Prepare project proposals (time & material quoting), develop solution sets, and present them to the Business Services Team and clients.
- Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to Integrators, Network Administrators, Systems Engineers, Virtual CIOs, CSMs, and Sales Administration.
- Document and develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s existing IT cloud architecture/infrastructure, service offerings and overall technology portfolio.
- Interpret customer requirements; speak with customers or prospects to understand their needs and relay this information to the Business Services representative.
- Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT cloud/ infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
- Conduct research on emerging cloud technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
- Serve as a liaison with other departments in the company to gather technical expertise to support the Professional Services and Business Services teams.
- Conduct research on new technologies and solutions.
- Special projects such as audits and infrastructure analysis as required.
What skills do I need to be a successful Solutions Architect?
- Strong experience with Windows desktop and MacOS operating systems.
- Patience, empathy, confidence, and customer service skills. You will be working with a myriad of applications and systems, as well as people with varying degrees of technical expertise.
- Certified in, or has in-depth knowledge of, Dell, HP, SonicWALL, and Fortinet product lines.
- Certified in, or has in-depth knowledge of, Microsoft licensing, Microsoft 365 & Azure.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills at all levels internally and externally; with the ability to organize, present and prepare communications either in person or remotely.
- Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently, ensuring that the Professional Services Team is exceeding client expectations.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Talented interpersonal abilities to build rapport with customers and teammates alike.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively in day-to-day operations.
- An ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changes.
- Exceptional follow-through skills.
What are the qualifications I need to have?
- University degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or equivalent experience.
- Previous solution architecting experience; Writing proposals, developing standard solutions, performing client demo’s, researching new products and technology
Would be awesome if you had…
- Experience in sales, creating proposals/quotes and working with customers to develop solutions.
- Experience working as a Systems Integrator, deploying infrastructure, applications, or cloud migrations.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Understanding of, and a background in working within the IT managed services provider business model.
- Experience with ConnectWise Manage, Kaseya VSA, or other similar MSP tools and software.
- Bilingualism (English and French).
What is the physical work environment like?
- This position requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, seeing, reaching, talking, and hearing. May need to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

How often will I get formal feedback on how well I’m doing?
- Six-month performance reviews, with every second review a performance and salary review.
- Performance review goals will be established between you and your team leader.

Salary : $67 - $89
