This is a hands-on, entry-to-intermediate level position working alongside experienced machinists in a fast-paced production shop. No prior CNC experience is required — we will train the right person. What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your ability to work safely and reliably as part of a team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperate CNC lathes and mills under the direction of the Machinist LeadMonitor machines during production runs to ensure safe and proper operationMeasure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tight tolerancesIdentify and troubleshoot basic CNC machine issues; escalate complex problems to the Machinist LeadLoad and unload raw material and finished parts from machines as requiredPerform routine machine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and coolant checksFollow work orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions accuratelyMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standardsAdhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company policiesParticipate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement effortsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORRequiredAbility to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks throughout an 8 hour shiftMechanically inclined with a basic understanding of how machines and tools workStrong attention to detail and pride in producing quality workReliable team player who communicates openly and supports coworkersEagerness to learn new skills and take direction constructivelyBasic math skills (fractions, decimals, measurement conversions)Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructionsComfortable asking questions and seeking clarification rather than guessing — we want you to succeedComfortable working in a shop environment (noise, coolant, metal chips, machinery)Preferred (Not Required)Prior experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or industrial settingFamiliarity with CNC lathes, mills, or other machining equipmentExperience reading basic engineering drawings or blueprintsKnowledge of measuring instruments such as calipers or micrometersCompletion of a vocational/technical program in machining, manufacturing, or a related tradePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the shop for the duration of a shiftAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassistedCapable of bending, reaching, and working in various positions as neededMust be able to wear and consistently use required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, etc.)WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULEThis position works in an active machine shop environment. Standard hours are day shift; however, candidates open to night shift availability are encouraged to discuss scheduling flexibility during the interview process.
