Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role involves driving projects from concept through market release, ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, hands-on experience with mechanical systems, and proficiency in advanced design tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design projects from initial concept to final product release.
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, including new product development and cost-reduction efforts.
- Validate designs through prototype construction and rigorous evaluation.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports outlining objectives, procedures, and results.
- Research and specify components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Develop manufacturing and assembly drawings, along with test and inspection documentation.
- Apply GD&T schemes and perform tolerance analysis for critical fits.
- Present project documentation and findings during review meetings.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing to optimize assembly methods and processes.
Essential Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3–5 years in mechanical design and manufacturing.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of metal die and investment casting, machining, and finishing processes.
- Experience with diaphragms, gaskets, and O-ring seals.
- Familiarity with pneumatic force balance systems.
- Proficiency in using amperage and voltage power supplies, multi-meters, and soldering equipment.
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Arduino and MATLAB.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot low-power circuits (4–20mA / 0–10VDC).
- Familiarity with analysis software (CFD, FEA).
- Knowledge of Hazardous Location Approvals (FM, CSA, ATEX).
- Experience in valve and spring design.
