Job Brief:
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the work of electrical and instrumentation technicians to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervises crew to ensure that they meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Monitors projects to ensure that they are completed on time and within budget.
- Establishes standards for electrical safety in the workplace and making sure they are met.
- Manages daily activities of the electrical department, including scheduling work tasks and directing crews.
- Oversees the hiring and training of electrical staff.
- Interprets electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications to guide the installation process.
- Engages in business development activities to assist in growing the business.
- Develops and coordinates schedules, resource plans, procurement, and project tracking.
- Controls costs and maximizes productivity by implementing best practices and standard processes.
- Ensures client satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
- Attends progress meetings as requested. Collaborates with the operations manager and project managers to oversee budgets.
- Monitors project progress, identifies potential risks or delays, and implements effective solutions.
- Determines resource needs (labor, equipment, and materials) from start to finish and keeps within budgetary limitations.
- Establishes clear goals and expectations for electricians and provides coaching/counseling for employee growth and development.
- Plans all construction operations and schedules intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met. Evaluates progress and prepares detailed reports.
- Estimates change orders for assigned projects, as necessary.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships within the industry.
- Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
- Other duties as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an electrical foreman or superintendent
- Minimum 5 years successfully leading highly innovative and productive EE teams.
- Must be fluent in the use of MS Office and other software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and project management skills.
- Proficient knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Standard First Aid/CPR with AED, OSHA 30, and Safeland, with preference for OSHA500.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).
- Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position.
- Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).
Salary : $36 - $40
