What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Material Handler position at Control Devices LLC?
Position Title: Material Handler (Picker) – Shipping
Department: Shipping
Location: Fenton, MO
Reports To: Shipping Supervisor
Classification: Hourly – non-exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm
Position Summary:
The primary function of this position is to pull open orders and stage them for the Packers, and to occasionally assist with packing when needed along with other various duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Job Duties:
- Will complete open order pick tickets.
- Able to use mobile electronic scan guns.
- Able to pull finish good components for staging.
- Able to pack finished good components.
- Transfers of parts in the system
- Label containers
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
Required Experience/Skills:
- Previous shipping experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Macola strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize duties.
- Ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong verbal, written communications skills
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to sit, stand, reach, pull, bend, and lift throughout the entire shift.
- Ability to perform physical labor.
- Forklift certified or the ability to become certified.
- Flexible scheduling - willing to work overtime as needed.
