Sales Associate - The primary responsibility of the Sales Associate is to develop long-term customer relationships, learn the company’s products and services, and grow into a trusted resource for the customers we serve. Under the guidance of a Senior Sales Executive, the Sales Associate will shadow and learn all aspects of the sales process, customer management, and product knowledge over an approximately one-year mentorship period. This is an exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
· Shadowing a Senior Sales Executive to learn the full sales cycle, customer interaction, and account management;
· Building and maintaining long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers;
· Learning the company’s product lines, including electrical components and custom-built products, with a commitment to ongoing product education;
· Responding to customer inquiries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner;
· Assisting in preparing sales quotes and proposals under the direction of senior staff;
· Attending customer visits, sales calls, and trade events with a Senior Sales Executive;
· Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity;
· Participating in training sessions, product demonstrations, and internal meetings to develop industry and product knowledge;
· Supporting senior sales staff with account follow-up and customer service activities;
· Participate in and/or attend special events, promotions and seminars when applicable, with occasional travel.
The Ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
· 0–4 years of sales experience, with a focus on or interest in long-term, relationship-based selling rather than one-time transactional sales.
· Eagerness to learn from experienced mentors and a commitment to invest up to one-year in a shadowing program, based on individual progress
· A basic understanding of electrical assemblies and components is a plus; a strong desire to learn the technical aspects of our products is essential.
· Familiarity with Government Contracts and regulations is a plus
· Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
· Able to promptly answer sales and customer service-related email and phone calls.
· Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers over time.
· Knowledge of, or interest in learning, principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services, including sales techniques and customer relationship management.
· Proficient with common software applications; familiarity with CRM tools is a plus.
· Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Reports To: Vice President of Sales Operations
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret general business correspondence, product documentation, and customer communications. Ability to write clear and professional emails and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, team members, and management.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and proportions. Ability to apply basic arithmetic in support of sales quoting and pricing activities.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to identify customer needs, collect relevant information, and work with senior staff to develop appropriate solutions. Ability to follow technical instructions and learn to interpret product specifications and diagrams.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, email applications, and Word Processing software. Experience with spreadsheet software and CRM platforms is a plus.

Compensation: This position offers a base salary of $40,000-55,000 per year plus commission structure. Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process. This role is an in-person role and is not available for fully remote work.
