Position Overview

BigDeal by Codie Sanchez — a top 10 business podcast and top 100 podcast on Spotify USA — is looking for an Associate Podcast Producer to work with our Executive Producer in-person in Austin Texas.

This role is made for an ambitious creative with high standards. You’ll collaborate with some of the most influential names in business, technology, and culture. Your ideas won’t sit on a shelf; they’ll shape the show end-to-end. If you move fast, enjoy your autonomy, and want your creative input to actually matter, this is the role for you.

The Associate Podcast Producer role sits at the intersection of production, task management, and research. They are a crucial part of the operating system behind BigDeal — prepping research and question docs, overseeing longform/shortform edits, and making sure deadlines are hit. They oversee the day-to-day operations of BigDeal so the Executive Producer can focus on growth, creative direction, and front-line decisions.

The ideal candidate is a clear communicator, is super organized, and has worked on a podcast previously. Deep familiarity with YouTube and Spotify is a plus. Data analysis background is a plus. Technical experience of some kind — video editing, audio mixing, writing, etc — is a plus.

The ideal candidate also has great taste. The word “content” should slightly annoy you. “Content” means “stuff”. We make podcasts.

You don’t have to be an expert at everything, so be candid about the limits of your knowledge. We love when people say “honestly I don’t know, let me dig in and find out,” and “I haven’t done that before, but I’m down to try it.”

What Your Days Will Look Like…

• Own the podcast production calendar end-to-end
  • Recording schedules
  • Edit timelines
  • Publish dates
  • Distribution deadlines
• Keep Notion clean, current, and reliable
  • Episode status
  • Guest tracking
  • Asset libraries
  • Task ownership
• Inbound Guest Requests & Scheduling
  • Act as the front gate for all BigDeal guest pitches and booking requests
  • Evaluate fit, research candidates, and prep decision briefs
  • Get final direction from the Executive Producer and respond accordingly
  • Own scheduling and coordination for approved guests
• Manage episode flow from idea → recording → edit → publish → repurpose
• Coordinate cross-platform distribution with leads across:
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube Shorts
  • Instagram Reels
  • TikTok
• Support guest and topic research
  • Build tight prep briefs using AI manual research
  • Pull past appearances, viral moments, and positioning insights
• Track feedback and revisions so nothing stalls
• Identify broken workflows and fix them
• Build repeatable systems that increase output without increasing chaos

What We’re Looking For

• 1-3 years experience in podcast production, media ops, or content management
• Extremely organized with strong follow-through
• Fluent in project management and comfortable managing complex workflows
• Experience with podcast hosting platforms and YouTube publishing
• Comfortable coordinating across editors, creatives, and producers
• Strong written communication
• Familiarity with AI tools for research and prep
• Bias toward action and ownership
• Calm under pressure and allergic to missed deadlines

Bonus if you’ve worked in a startup or creator-led media company and know how quickly things break without systems.

What Success Looks Like

• Episodes ship on time without reminders with all elements approved 24 hours ahead of posting day
• Editors always have what they need ahead of schedule
• The Executive Producer is not chasing logistics
• No missed uploads, broken links, or last-minute scrambles

Full-time, in-office role at our Austin, Texas headquarters
