Heavy Equipment Shop Foreman / Lead Technician

In this role, you'll work closely with our Service Manager and Service Technicians to deliver superior customer service while maintaining a collaborative, safety-focused shop culture.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy construction equipment, including excavators, wheel loaders, drills, portable aggregate/crushing plants, hydraulic breakers, and road wideners.
This is a Union Position with the Local 158 Union.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: Starting at $40/hour (Depending on experience)
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (overtime as needed)

Essential Duties
- Manage and schedule shop technician workload in coordination with Service Management
- Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to shop technicians
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment systems (motors, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, exhaust/aftertreatment)
- Oversee preventative maintenance and repair schedules for customer equipment and our 150-piece rental fleet
- Promote and maintain a safe, positive work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years as a Shop Foreman or equivalent supervisory experience
- Minimum 10 years in mechanical, service technician, or diesel technology roles (5 years in heavy equipment repair required)
- Experience with Link-Belt, Hitachi, Sandvik, and/or Anaconda equipment preferred
- Hands-on experience rebuilding diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic pumps
- Proven supervisory/leadership skills including scheduling and technician support
- Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to read/interpret hydraulic & electrical schematics
- Proficiency with laptop diagnostic tools and computer programs
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Effective communicator across all levels (leadership, team, customers)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs; valid driver's license with clean record
- Road or field technician experience a plus; some travel may be required
