Job Summary:

The Cab Project Manager will oversee operator cab projects from concept through production launch. This hands-on role requires working closely with engineering, production, purchasing, quality, and customers to ensure projects meet specifications, schedules, and cost targets. The ideal candidate thrives on problem-solving in real time, leading cross-functional teams, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management & Customer Coordination

  • Lead custom cab projects, ensuring scope, technical standards, and schedule are met.
  • Serve as the primary technical and project contact for customers, maintaining strong relationships on-site and off-site.
  • Lead meetings to monitor project status and resolve issues.
  • Track, control, and report on project progress, risks, milestones, tooling, fixturing, and new equipment.

Design & Quoting Support

  • Provide technical input to Engineering and Estimating teams for quotes, prototypes, and design evaluations.
  • Participate in design reviews and offer feedback for manufacturability and cost optimization.
  • Assist in identifying and developing new vendors as needed during the design process.
  • Review project costs and support preparation of formal customer quotes.

Production & Vendor Support

  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering to implement and manage product changes, ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance for problem-solving, supporting product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Review prototypes in-house and in the field during various stages of development.
  • Coordinate prototype or production changes with Engineering as needed.
  • Work with Purchasing and the Quality Management Representative (QMR) to address vendor quality issues and support vendor visits or assessments.

Quality & Process Oversight

  • Partner with QMR to ensure compliance with quality processes and support resolution of customer quality issues.
  • Help maintain standards/best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives across the cab product line.
  • All other jobs necessary as assigned and to promote the success of the company (C-I-T)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 years of project management experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of welded structures, mechanical assemblies, and fabrication processes.
  • Experience managing customer-facing projects and relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project/Planner, Excel, and ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Must be able to communicate effectively up, down and across all lines of responsibility
  • Communicate in a Professional manner keeping in mind the time sensitivity of needed communication (Internally/Externally).
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong people skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55, $65,000.00 per year
