About Us:
Contract Equipment Operators is a fast-growing, locally owned small business delivering a wide range of services to municipalities, school districts, contractors, and private clients across Northern Colorado. We do a little bit of everything fencing, landscaping, general construction, commercial property maintenance and snow removal. Our clients include Walmart, Sam's Club, the City of Lakewood and El Paso County. We pride ourselves on reliability, hustle, and doing the job right. Our company offers competitive pay, opportunities for advancement, and a supportive environment where hard work and results are recognized and rewarded. We're now hiring an Assistant Foreman who wants more than a paycheck—someone ready to grow with us.
Position Overview:
This is a hands-on, jack of all trades leadership role for someone who thrives in the field, not the office. You'll train under the Owner/Director of Construction and quickly grow into leading job sites and managing small crews with minimal oversight. We need someone dependable, self-motivated, and mechanically capable. We need a self starter who can take direction and complete projects with very little supervision, problem solve, and keep the boss out of the field so he can focus on business development. If you want a job that rewards hustle, accountability, and a desire to build something, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. As we continue to grow, we will increase your wage based on performance and increased responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Make the Owner's life easier.
- Supervise, train and lead a field crew (typically 2-3 people).
- Follow instructions from Owner regarding tasks related to each project and implementation of plans.
- Ensure daily tasks are completed to adhere to the project timeline.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and manage challenges as they arise on-site.

- Troubleshoot small engines and do minor repair on-site to continue work.
- Perform site safety checks and maintain safety compliance.
- Attend project walk-throughs and pre-bid meetings as needed.
- Lead English and Spanish-speaking crews with professionalism and respect.
- Assist with scheduling, reporting, and progress documentation.
- Show up on time every time. No shows are an immediate termination of contract.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License with a clean record and reliable transportation.
- Construction or field experience in: fencing, landscaping, general construction, snow removal, commercial property maintenance, etc.
- Experience operating skid steers, mowers, and general construction equipment.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working outdoors in all conditions for 10 hours when necessary.
- Strong hands-on work ethic; able to perform labor as well as lead crews.
- Small engine repair and maintenance skills. Must be able to do simple troubleshooting on equipment on site.
- Comfortable towing and backing trailers.
- Able to communicate with Spanish-speaking crew members (fluency is not required, but willingness to learn is).
- Able to read and implement scopes of work and basic site plans.
