What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Services Technician position at Contract Callers, Inc.?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Traverse approximately 50-75 miles daily on an assigned gas route to turn on gas service, turn off gas service, leak surveys, disconnect residential and commercial gas services, collections of delinquent accounts and accounts showing unauthorized usage; read and record gas meter consumption, and identify and report unsafe gas meter conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Timely and accurate completion of a gas service route consisting of 15 – 40 work orders depended on route assigned by Vectren , will be assessed by CCI supervisor on daily basis.
• Locate and verify the safe condition of all the gas meters, piping and curb-boxes identified on Vectren work orders.
• Immediate reporting of all unsafe meter, piping and curb-box conditions, leaks, defects or suspicious conditions to a CCI Supervisor.
• Accurate reading and recording of residential and commercial gas meter consumption.
• Disconnection of residential/commercial gas services at the meter, branch, riser or curb-box and the application of appropriate locking devices.
• Completion and distribution of customer notices regarding the status of their gas service.
• Complete and accurate data entry on all Vectren work orders.
• Maintain the highest standards of customer service while effectively managing customers complaints, concerns, and referrals to a CCI Supervisor and/or Vectrens customer service representative (CSR)
• Effectively negotiate over and under obstacles without sustaining injury.
• Responsibly manage and overcome hostile situations which may include hostile customer’s, contact with domestic and wild animals (some of which may be dangerous) and continuous exposure to physically demanding and rigorous working environments.
OTHER REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain a valid driver’s license, insurance, and registration on a reliable vehicle.
• Become proficient at reading and navigating maps within the Vectrens service area.
• Prepare a variety of operational reports related to gas meter service and disconnection activities.
• Be responsible for all payment types collected from Vectren customers and taking to pay sites.
EDUCATION AND PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Pipeline Operators Qualification Certification– Annual training provided by Vectren and CCI.
• Pipeline Safety Regulations(Federal Drug and Alcohol Testing 49 CFR §199, 49 CFR§40, and 49 CFR §382)– Required participation in DOT (Dept. of Transportation) pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing program.
