Meaningful Public Service- Play an important role in supporting reliable water service for the community. Your work helps ensure accurate billing, identify potential water service issues, and maintain the integrity of the CCWD's water system for thousands of customers.
- Each day brings a different route, customer interaction, and field condition. You’ll perform a mix of meter reading, troubleshooting, customer service, and field observations while working across a variety of neighborhoods and service areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Read and record water meter data using handheld meter-reading equipment along assigned routes and schedules.
- Identify and report unusual readings, leaks, damaged meters, or other service concerns.
- Submit work orders for maintenance or repair needs.
- Maintain meter boxes and surrounding areas.
- Respond to customer questions and provide service information in the field.
- Re-read meters and verify readings for accuracy.
- Assist with route updates and adjustments as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess mobility to work in the field; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light to medium physical work; to sit, stand, and walk on level, uneven, or slippery surfaces; frequently reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to operate varied hand and power tools and equipment; to operate a motor vehicle and visit various District sites; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and to inspect and operate equipment. The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards and perform assigned duties. Finger dexterity is needed to operate tools and maintain and repair equipment. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects averaging a weight of 25 pounds or heavier weights, with the use of proper equipment and/or assistance from other staff.
ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS
Employees work in the field and are exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, road hazards, vibration, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, hazardous physical substances and fumes, dust, and air contaminants. Employees may be exposed to blood borne pathogens.
WORKING CONDITIONS
May be required to be on-call and may work various shifts and outside of normal shift hours on evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All CCWD employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. As such, CCWD employees may be called upon to support the activities of CCWD during an emergency situation.
