Job Summary
Contra Costa Electric, Inc is looking for a Safety Coordinator I/Field Operations to serve as a vital link between our management team and field crews. This is a field role located at a job site that balances technical safety compliance with fleet coordination and material logistics. You will be the primary eyes on our job sites, ensuring every team member works safely while keeping equipment and materials moving efficiently to maintain project schedules.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safety Coordination & Compliance
- Field Audits: Perform daily and weekly safety inspections on active job sites to identify hazards and ensure 100% compliance with OSHA standards.
- Safety Training: Prepare and lead weekly "Toolbox Talks" and safety meetings; mentor field crews on specialized safety topics relevant to specific project phases.
- Asset Safety: Conduct regular safety inspections of power tools, ladders, and specialized equipment.
- Digital Records: Perform detailed data entry of field inspections, near-miss reports, and incident investigations into the company safety portal and ToolWatch.
- PPE Management: Ensure all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and site-specific safety gear is available and in good working condition.
Fleet & Asset Coordination
- Service Scheduling: Monitor vehicle mileage and maintenance intervals; schedule oil changes, tire rotations, and repairs for the company fleet.
- Asset Tracking: Utilize Geotab and ToolWatch to assign tools to specific vehicles/crews and track equipment location and maintenance status.
- Vehicle Logistics: Drive field vehicles to and from service centers to ensure crews experience zero production downtime.
- Maintenance Logs: Maintain accurate digital records of all vehicle repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
Logistics & Field Support (Parts Runner)
- Material Logistics: Pick up materials, parts, and tools from the shop or local distributors and deliver them directly to various job sites.
- Inventory Support: Assist in loading/unloading materials and verify that delivery manifests match the items received.
- Hot-Shot Delivery: Provide urgent response delivery services to keep projects on schedule and crews productive.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Valid OSHA 30-Hour Construction card is required.
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, safety coordination, or warehouse logistics.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean MVR (required for fleet coordination duties).
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Proficiency in using mobile apps for data entry, GPS navigation, and asset management software (Geotab/ToolWatch).
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

- Ability to professionally deliver safety briefings and communicate effectively with vendors and site foremen.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.

The employee must move within the office to retrieve files and meet with employees in their offices or conference room. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
