TITLE: Plant Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Manufacturing
EFFECTIVE DATE: June 2025
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Plant Engineer will collaborate to adjust and improve the manufacturing process, will work with the actual machinery and physical setup of the factory to implement new technology and facilitate each step of production.
The Plant Engineer will have a strong understanding and troubleshooting capability of electrical schematics and logic.
The Plant Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining the procedures for equipment reliability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide management with data and statistical analysis of current production efficiencies, along with recommendation of optimal manufacturing processes.
· Responsible for preventive maintenance to keep equipment at expected run rates.
· Collaborate with the plant manager to update and/or create work instructions for optimal run rates.
· Ensure company adherence and be the liaison with TOSHA laws and regulations.
· Collaborate with the accounting and production team cost estimating from expected production efficiency.
· Design and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency. This will require internal build equipment and/or purchased equipment.
· Responsible for accurate update of BP&E, drawings, process controls and operating systems.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or industrial engineering with significant PLC and electrical logic experience.
Strong analytical and statistical background, problem solving and creative thinking.
Experience in the flat glass industry a plus.
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
