Duties
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort while adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Operate a variety of diagnostic imaging equipment including X-ray machines
- Position patients accurately based on detailed anatomy knowledge and physiology understanding to obtain optimal images for diagnosis.
- Ensure all imaging procedures comply with safety standards and medical terminology protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Assist in diagnostic radiology assessments by evaluating image quality immediately post-procedure and making necessary adjustments for clarity.
- Maintain detailed records of all imaging procedures performed, including patient information, technical settings, and procedural notes.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques during invasive procedures or when working in sterile environments within emergency room or trauma center settings.
- Proven experience operating advanced medical imaging equipment such as X-ray.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately position patients and capture precise images for diagnostic purposes.
- Familiarity with emergency room procedures and Level I Trauma Center protocols is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret medical terminology accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Experience working in urgent care or emergency medicine environments demonstrating adaptability under pressure.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques essential for invasive procedures or sterile environments within diagnostic radiology settings.
- Certification from relevant radiologic technology boards or licensing agencies required; additional training in nuclear medicine or specialized modalities is a plus.
