Responsibilities of this role
Success for incumbents in this role includes being able to manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks including the following: input of new orders, fielding phone calls from customers, maintaining the correct billing of prescriptions, filling prescriptions, helping with inventory, running and maintaining an automated machine and other jobs assigned by the pharmacist. You will also provide support to the team enabling them to fill prescriptions promptly, safely and accurately.
Pharmacy technicians take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients, and they demonstrate ethical conduct and always maintain patient confidentiality. You will work in a fast paced environment where the highest professional and ethical standards are maintained as well as full compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- PTCB certification required.
- Must have knowledge of medications and narcotics.
- Must understand current pharmacy procedures and practices.
- Must possess excellent typing, keyboarding and proofreading skills.
- Effective oral communication skills w/patients, providers, & co-workers.
- Experience with pharmacy operation systems required.
- Must possess pharmacy calculation skills.
- Understanding of pharmacy inventory and how to maintain it.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
