The culture in the ED is a team approach. They must have willingness to work as a team with the expectation of being able to adjust to a high acuity and fast-paced department. Every other weekend and holiday are required, along with hard to fill days.
Patient Care Technician - Emergency Department - Contingent - Rotating Shift
This position is not eligible for benefits.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Aids with movement and placement of patients.
- Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
- Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: -
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES REQUIRED: -
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES PREFERRED:
- Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred. Any issuing authority accepted.
