Behavioral Health Services Intake Specialist - Contingent - Days - Jackson
GENERAL SUMMARY
8:30am - 4:30pm
Under general supervision, the Intake Specialist responds to inquiries from the general public, physicians and behavioral health providers regarding behavioral health treatment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Arranges for patient admission or refers callers to appropriate facilities
- Evaluates prospective patients and secures required medical information in accordance with established standards]
- Coordinates the admission process
- Prepares preliminary treatment plan
- Communicates with physician/nursing personnel regarding patient condition
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree in behavioral health preferred
- Mental health/chemical dependence or behavioral health services background preferred
- Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of related experience required
- Ability to answer telephones, establish filing systems, interview others, maintain logs, and schedule appointments
- Computer knowledge (basic database, email, MS Office), Photocopier, fax
