EEG technologist I is an entry level position in the Neurophysiology Department. The tech will maintain patient safety while the patient is being monitored in the EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) or while undergoing an 8 hour VEEG. The tech is responsible for ensuring electrode integrity, visually watching and tracking (via camera) epilepsy patients (2-8 patients) via monitors.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Six months or more experience working in a patient care environment.
- Enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited Electrodiagnostic (END) program, is preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Current BLS certification.
