Your tasks
THE POSITION
This position is responsible for the supervision of hourly employees regarding productivity and schedule attainment, quality, safety, efficiency, cost control, waste control, and housekeeping. Responsible for employee relations, training, performance evaluations, and BT 1 meetings the start of every shift.
Essential Functions (in order of job importance):
Maintain efficiency of operations.
Ensure quality of product is being met.
Ensure maintenance and modifications are being met for each piece of equipment.
Maintain waste, and scrap control.
Responsible for and maintaining record keeping.
Provide a safe environment on the floor.
Responsible for employee relations and training.
Maintain budget and cost control
Responsible for scheduling.
Responsible for the Housekeeping on the floor, ensuring work spaces are clean and organized.
Other duties as directed by the Lead Supervisor or Department Manager.
NOTE: May not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Associate's Degree or 2 years experience required.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous manufacturing supervision experience.
Other Skills / Abilities: Good communication skills, written and oral, Ability to listen effectively, a good understanding of production knowledge, excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to problem solve, good basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, ability to plan and organize effectively, Hirata system, and Conveyor system.

Cover all machines manning for vacations, call-offs, etc. Write schedules for current shift and write a forecast schedule for the supplying departments to ensure the right components are ran for the next shift. Go to the break room and conduct the BT1 meeting at the start of the shift and pass out the builder’s and trucker’s schedules. Make sure all production requirements are met for internal customers. Manage green tire inventories. Keep overhead conveyors, spray robots and hirata systems running. Document any machine downtime and login any machines that require maintenance. Address any issues that may arise throughout the shift including quality, production delays, component outages, etc. Make sure all reports are complete before the end of the shift and all scrap is collected from the tire room, weighed and tagged. Address any safety issues or incidents that may arise throughout the shift.
