What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multicraft Maintenance Technician – Sumter, SC position at Continental?
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (2-2-3 rotation, days or nights – every other weekend)
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team in Sumter, SC! You’ll play an important role in keeping our production equipment running safely and efficiently. Every day will bring something new — from troubleshooting machines and motors to performing preventive maintenance and helping improve reliability across the plant.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and machinery
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep things running smoothly
- Diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical issues (motors, PLCs, controls, etc.)
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders
- Install and maintain piping, valves, and plant systems
- Perform basic welding, machining, or fabrication when needed
- Follow all safety and environmental guidelines
What We’re Looking For
Education/Experience:
- AAS degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance OR 5 years of industrial maintenance experience with a HS Diploma/GED
Skills:
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
- Basic knowledge of PLCs and control systems
- Comfortable using hand tools and precision measuring devices
- Good problem-solving, communication, and computer skills
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating (2-2-3) shifts — days or nights
Preferred:
- AAS degree plus 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
