What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Continental Rails, Inc?
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery to move materials and prepare sites for construction.
- Manage various trucks including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks to transport materials efficiently across job sites.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on all machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Follow detailed safety protocols during equipment operation to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and operational reports for project documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and related machinery.
- Hands-on construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with site preparation, material handling, and equipment management.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL class A) (REQUIRED) with experience driving various trucks and equipment
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and protocols is essential.
- Previous railroad experience preferred
