JOB DESCRIPTIONEmployment Type: Full Time/Hourly/Non-ExemptSalary Information: $19.16-$23.95/Hourly Who We AreContinental Maritime of San Diego, a Titan company, is a certified Master Ship Repair Contractor for the U.S. Navy. Our skilled professionals have performed hundreds of ship repairs for the Navy and Military Sealift Command. CMSD does repair on all types of major surface vessels including CVN, CG, and DDG, and all types of amphibious ships including LHD, LHA, LSD, LPD, and auxiliary ships. Our work also includes repairs and alterations to a wide range of Combatant, Hull, Mechanical and Electrical, and Habitability Systems. Position SpecificsContinental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking an experienced Critical Response Officer to support our operations. The Critical Response Officer is responsible for safeguarding industrial premises to help ensure the protection of property and personnel from fire, theft, vandalism, unauthorized entry, and other security risks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing protective services, conducting access control, monitoring the facility, and enforcing operational policies. This position supports landside and waterborne PHYSEC (Physical Security), OPSEC (Operational Security), PERSEC (Personnel Security), and INFOSEC (Information Security) programs. Additional responsibilities may include contributing to the prevention of MASINT (Measurement and Signatures Intelligence) threats while supporting counterintelligence operations involving HUMINT (Human Intelligence), IMINT (Imagery Intelligence), SIGNIT (Signals Intelligence), and OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence), in alignment with applicable security protocols. The Critical Response Officer also identifies and reports potential insider threat activities, performs duties in accordance with the responsibilities of a Shipyard Competent Person (SYCP), and responds to high-angle, confined space, and medical emergencies onboard vessels located within the facility. The position supports efforts to prevent, protect, detect, and deter damage to or loss of government, company, and personal property. Minimum RequirementsUS Citizenship is requiredAbility to acquire a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements related to industrial activities, including hot work and work in confined/enclosed spaces.Ability to learn and apply applicable OSHA, NFPA, and NAVSEA Standard Items related to hot work and confined/enclosed spaces in the SYCP role.Familiarity with U.S. Naval shipboard spaces and navigation markings identified as a "bullseye" is preferredAbility to complete safety training (FAA) for safe operation of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS); training provided, if not already held.Must demonstrate courteous and professional interaction with the workforce, military personnel, government personnel, and the publicAbility to obtain and maintain a valid Vehicle Operator’s Permit for Powered Industrial Trucks (such as aerial boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts).Ability to obtain and maintain a California Boater Safety Card.Must be able to acquire BSIS Guard CardAbility to obtain and maintain a valid BSIS Guard Card.Ability to qualify for and maintain certification as a Technical Rescue Team (TRT) member in accordance with job responsibilities.Ability to obtain and maintain an OSHA 10-Hour Card or NAVSEA-approved equivalent.Ability to obtain and maintain current First Aid and CPR/AED certification from the Red Cross or AHA (EMTs preferred but not required).Ability to prepare clear, legible written reports using complete sentences and proper structure.Ability to follow radio communication protocols and communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats.Basic proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.Flexibility to work any assigned shift as required by operational needs.Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential. Physical RequirementsMay be exposed to fumes, irritants, laser light, toxic chemicals, and potential electrical shock in an industrial or shipboard environment.May involve gathering data while observing rotating or operating machinery.Frequently works in an industrial or shipboard environmentFrequently moves throughout the shipyard or onboard vesselsMay be required to maneuver, ascend, and descend stairs/ladders/ramps located within various shipsMay be required to maneuver objects weighing up to 40 poundsMay be exposed to rapid changes in microclimates, industrial processes, and other environmental factors while collecting data, providing direction, and observing performance of task teamsMay be required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, up to 80% of the time, depending on shift and taskMay be required to perform rappelling exercises, and participate in high-angle and low-angle rescue operations with appropriate training and equipmentMay be required to work at heights and in confined spaces with openings as small as 18 inchesMay be required to perform physically demanding tasks related to rescue or emergency response functions, including rapid movement, lifting, or use of specialized equipment.Inspection-related tasks may involve extended periods of walking, standing, or climbing to access shipboard and industrial work areas.The Continental Maritime of San Diego Management Team is committed to providing the necessary structure, tools, and environment for our employees.
