Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, physically capable Warehouse Employee in Bohemia, NY. This role is essential to our daily operation — from safely unloading stone slabs and tile pallets off shipping containers to keeping the shop clean, organized, and stocked. You will operate a forklift, drive company vehicles, and work closely with the Warehouse team to move material where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. No CDL required and forklift certification is provided on-site.

Core Responsibilities:

Material & Yard:

• Operate forklift to move stone slabs, tile pallets, and raw materials safely throughout the yard and shop floor
• Unload incoming shipping containers, verifying material quantities and condition against purchase orders
• Stage slabs and cut pieces on A-frames and slab racks per shop workflow and supervisor direction
• Load finished products and materials onto delivery trucks, securing loads properly for transport
• Assist the fabrication team with moving material to and from cutting and polishing stations
• Conduct daily yard inventory checks and report discrepancies or damaged material

Shop & Logistics:

• Maintain cleanliness of the shop floor, yard, and common areas — sweeping, washing down surfaces, and clearing debris and slurry
• Organize and store hand tools, power tools, blades, and supplies in designated locations
• Monitor and restock consumables (blades, abrasives, adhesives, sealer) and alert supervisor when levels are low

Qualifications:

Required:

• Prior warehouse, yard, or material handling experience — stone, tile, or building materials industry a strong plus
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification through company-provided on-site training
• Valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record — no CDL required
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted; comfortable on your feet for a full shift
• Strong attention to detail when receiving, staging, and logging materials
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred:

• Experience handling natural stone slabs or large-format tile — familiarity with A-frames, slab carts, and vacuum lifts
• Background in a fabrication or manufacturing shop environment
• Prior forklift operation experience, even without formal certification
• Box truck driving experience
• Basic familiarity with purchase orders, delivery receipts, and inventory tracking
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Safety Requirements:

Note: Full stone slabs can weigh 700–1,500 lbs. All personnel must understand the tipping, shifting, and breakage risks involved when moving stone on forklifts, A-frames, and slab carts. Improper handling can result in serious injury.

• Follow all forklift safety protocols — pre-operation inspection, load capacity limits, travel speeds, and pedestrian awareness in shared spaces
• Wear required PPE at all times: steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection in designated zones
• Apply safe slab-handling practices: never walk under suspended loads; use proper banding and blocking when stacking
• Follow company protocols for container unloading — blocking, stabilization, and safe egress before entry
• Adhere to safe lifting techniques and use mechanical assists for loads exceeding safe manual limits
• Report all near-misses, equipment defects, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately
• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; follow all traffic laws while operating company vehicles

Comply with OSHA warehouse and material handling standards at all times

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
