What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech position at Continental Management?
A full-time maintenance technician position is available at two apartment communities in the Pontiac area. We are looking for candidates with great customer service skills who can complete service requests and make ready apartments.
The Maintenance Technician is directly responsible for:
- Performing general electrical repairs on items such as appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, circuits, etc.
- Perform general plumbing work, such as clearing stoppages, replacing fittings, etc. Replace broken glass, tile, carpet, screens, garbage disposals, fixtures, appliances, locks, etc.
- Paint - interior and exterior areas, as required.
- Perform carpentry work, such as fitting doors, freeing windows, replacing and building shelves, etc.
- Assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, in common areas, etc.
- Assist with ground work when necessary.
- Participate in a standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage.
- Assist in stock control and utilization of maintenance materials.
- Assist in completion of work order requests and adhere to maintenance priorities.
- Assist in refurbishing of vacant apartments.
- Periodically inspect all units, buildings and common areas, performing repairs and janitorial assistance as needed.
- Assist in apartment move-in and move-out inspections as directed.
- Valid Driver's License.
Position requires on-call after-hours emergency maintenance and occasional assistance at sister sites—wages based on the candidate's experience and skill level for the position.
