Job Description
The mission of this position is to support Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and achievement of organizational ESH targets and budget objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and local and corporate EHS systems, policies, and practices
- Serve as safety management interface with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders
- Implement and maintain required regulatory health and safety programs including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Hazardous Communication Program, Emergency Action Plan, Hearing Conservation Program, and Lockout/Tagout Program
- Translate corporate standards and policies into appropriate site-specific procedures
- Provide day-to-day oversight of safety and health programs across all operations
- Identify, assess, and evaluate conditions that could result in accidents, injuries, or financial losses
- Exercise authority to take immediate corrective action when unsafe conditions are identified, including the authority to stop work operations when necessary
- Conduct hazard assessments through inspections, self-assessment audits, and safety walks; provide recommendations for corrective and preventive measures
- Support the Safety Point Role and facilitate safety compliance at the team level
- Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring and health programs
- Support the Safety Recognition Program to promote positive safety culture
- Facilitate regular meetings to review accident reports, safety concerns, and safety improvement projects
- Deliver new hire safety training and ongoing safety education programs
- Provide routine interface and communication with the corporate safety department
- Ensure effective dissemination of safety information and best practices across the organization
- Perform other ESH-related tasks as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
- Associate degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or Engineering or related or 4 years of manufacturing environment supporting Safety, Health, and Environment in lieu of a degree
- 2 years in a manufacturing environment supporting Safety, Health and Environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong experience in technical problem solving, continuous improvement and/or project management.
Additional Ways To Stand Out
- Bachelor's in Occupational Health and Safety, or Engineering or related
- Experience with ISO 9001 or 14001
- Cross-functional experience e.g. in engineering, operations or CBS
- Experience in working with international teams on Safety topics and understanding foreign cultures
