HR Generalist
The HR Generalist will work collaboratively with leadership to implement HR initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies and foster a positive and engaging work environment. This role combines a deep understanding of HR best practices with the ability to deliver solutions that meet business objectives. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with others across various departments.
This position is based out of Edison, NJ. Physical presence is a necessary job function of this role. Ability to visit jobsites with overnight travel will be required.

What We Are Looking For
HR Generalist
The HR Generalist will work collaboratively with leadership to implement HR initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies and foster a positive and engaging work environment. Responsibilities
- Maintain and update HR policies and employee handbooks
- Prepare and submit required HR, EEO, ACA, and other regulatory reports.
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support process improvement.
- Administer employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and other voluntary plans.
- Coordinate open enrollment, employee education, and carrier communications.
- Serve as a resource for employees on HR-related questions, policies, and procedures.
- Draft and distribute employee communications related to HR programs, initiatives, and updates.
- Assist in developing and executing employee engagement initiatives that promote retention, recognition, and positive culture.
- Support planning and coordination of employee events and recognition programs.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and new hire orientations as needed.
- Assist with training programs
- Provide support to the Director of HR as needed and assist with other duties as assigned.
- 5 years of HR experience with broad generalist responsibilities
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
- Construction industry experience preferred (or similar environment with a field-based workforce).
- In depth knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
- Experience reporting, analyzing, interpreting, and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional maturity to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to multi-task, adapt to change and work in a fast-paced challenging environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.)
