What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time ASL Educational Interpreter – Arlington Public Schools (K-12) position at ContextGlobal Inc.?
ContextGlobal is hiring multiple full-time ASL Educational Interpreters to support Deaf and hard-of-hearing members of the Arlington Public Schools (APS) community. Whether you’re a recent Interpreter Training Program graduate looking for your first professional placement or an experienced interpreter ready for a stable school-year role, we’d like to meet you.
This is a school-calendar position — you’ll work the academic year and have summers and school breaks off, with optional supplemental assignments available if you want them.
About The Role
You’ll be placed in an Arlington Public Schools school for the duration of the school year (or as needed) and provide 1:1 ASL interpreting within the school setting for students and staff who use ASL as their primary mode of communication. This is a full-time staff position; qualified independent contractors will also be considered.
What You'll Do
We review every application and reach out to qualified applicants within 2 business days to schedule an interpreting screening. Applicants who advance will then be invited to a brief video interview with our ASL team.
What to Expect After You're Hired
Because this position is in a public school, all hired interpreters are required to complete the following: a criminal background check with fingerprinting, a drug test, and a possible TB screening. ContextGlobal coordinates and covers the cost of these screenings.
