What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Lead position at Content Wave?
We are running this search on behalf of a performance marketing agency that runs paid digital and lead generation for franchise and fitness brands. They're growing and want someone to build how they sell, then run it.
The Role
Work 40 inbound leads a month from partners and referrals to signed deals.
Generate new pipeline through cold outbound.
Run outreach using existing contact lists in HubSpot and spreadsheets.
Own the outbound stack: tools, cadences, and sales process.
Move into new verticals. Their franchise playbook replicates cleanly into adjacent markets and into paid-digital lead gen for other brands, and they're building new technology with a SaaS sales motion on the near-term roadmap. Strategic recommendations welcome.
About You
Based in San Diego. 2-3 years in a sales or lead generation role (SDR, BDR, or AE).
A record of generating pipeline, ideally in SaaS, digital marketing services, or franchise brands.
Digital marketing agency background.
A builder. You've launched or significantly shaped a sales development program before.
The Day to Day
Five days a week in office for the first 60 days, then hybrid: 3-4 days a week in office.
Comp: Base plus commission. Inbound and outbound deals are commissioned differently. The mandate is growth: the client wants someone who can take their accounts past where they sit today.
You'll be working directly with the CEO who has grown an 8 figure agency.
This role is closing and prospecting, and it asks you to be good at both. The person who fits here does both well and is energized by both.
