Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Accounts Receivable Representative to join our client to support accurate billing operations, strengthen cash flow, and ensure the integrity of financial data across multiple systems. This role plays a key part in managing receivables, resolving billing issues, and maintaining compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will balance analytical work with collaboration, partnering closely with internal teams to resolve discrepancies efficiently. This is a temporary-to-hire, onsite position based in Philadelphia, PA, offering exposure to complex billing environments and long-term growth potential.
Compensation:
$23 – $25/hour
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Representative:
- Oversee weekly and monthly billing processes for multiple service types, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission
- Manage collections activity, apply payments, research variances, and follow up on outstanding balances to reduce aging receivables
- Investigate denied or ineligible claims, coordinate corrections, and resubmit billing as needed to maximize reimbursement
- Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable aging reports, support account reconciliations, and recommend accounts for write-off review
- Monitor and update financial and insurance data across internal, county, and state systems to ensure data consistency and compliance
- Generate recurring billing, aging, and exception reports, escalating trends or issues to management for resolution
Qualifications and Skills for the Accounts Receivable Representative:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in billing or accounts receivable
- At least three years of experience supporting billing, cash applications, collections, or related financial operations
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial math, and revenue cycle processes
- Strong technical aptitude with financial systems and spreadsheets, including advanced Excel functionality
- Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Comfort working with automated billing platforms and government or payer-based billing environments
