Contemporaries is a government contracting firm supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in its efforts to hire a Project Manager – Procurement Support professional on a long-term contract.
This position will provide support in federal procurement, acquisition coordination, project management, and contract administration. The Project Manager will work with NIH program areas throughout the procurement and administrative process by tracking requests, maintaining accurate records, preparing documentation, communicating with stakeholders, and helping ensure actions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter, organize, track, and analyze procurement, vendor, and customer data.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of procurement data and identify opportunities to improve tracking and recordkeeping.
- Support procurement, acquisition, and contract management activities.
- Prepare, edit, format, and review procurement documents, correspondence, reports, and memoranda.
- Enter acquisition-related information and documentation into government systems.
- Track administrative and acquisition requests from initial submission through completion.
- Serve as a point of contact for assigned program areas and provide updates on the status of pending actions.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to identify potential issues and help resolve procurement or administrative requests.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, meetings, and preparation of meeting materials.
- Respond to questions regarding procurement policies, procedures, and processes.
- Maintain organized and accurate records while ensuring actions are consistent with applicable federal and NIH procedures.
- Provide administrative and project support for special assignments and program initiatives.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant professional experience may also be considered.
- Experience in project coordination, procurement, acquisitions, contracts, administrative operations, or a related area is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to accurately enter, maintain, review, and track data.
- Strong professional writing, editing, and document formatting skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Interest in developing knowledge of federal procurement, acquisitions, contracting, and government operations.
- Previous federal government, NIH, procurement, acquisition, or contract support experience is a plus.
