Role Overview
Performs and reports routine and special laboratory tests, maintains equipment, troubleshoots issues, and evaluates results and quality control data. Acts as a resource for training new employees and students, assists in evaluating new test procedures, and demonstrates knowledge of patient growth and development to provide age-specific care.

Demonstrates technical competence in laboratory procedures, maintains quality control, identifies improvement opportunities, and manages supplies. Ensures work areas are organized and clean, plans and prioritizes tasks effectively, and functions independently under varying conditions. Monitors training progress and recommends additional training as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Entry-level candidates with an associate degree in a relevant science field or eligibility as a medical technologist are considered. Effective communication, ability to work under pressure, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to expand knowledge are essential. Preferred certifications include ASCP-MT or MLT. Competencies include confidentiality, customer service, crisis management, and experience with electronic health records.
